Edward H. Bennett, Architect and City Planner
(Owner of Deerpath Farm, 1930-1954)
Quote from the 1909 Plan of Chicago
by Daniel Burnham and Edward H. Bennett
…wild forests, filled with such trees, vines, flowers and shrubs as will grow in this climate, and all should be developed in a natural condition. Country roads and a few paths should run through these forests, but they should not be cut into small divisions. There should be open glades here and there, and other natural features, and the people should be allowed to use them freely.
