Frederick Phillips, FAIA
Frederick Phillips, founder and developer of Deerpath Farm, represents the third generation of owner-architects who have left their mark on this land. Phillips is also the principle of Frederick Phillips and Associates, a full-service architecture firm focuses on residential architecture in the United States and abroad, and he has designed many of the houses at Deerpath Farm.
He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, and founded his architectural firm in Chicago after apprenticing for two years with Harry Weese.
His residential work has consistently enjoyed extensive publication in books and periodicals, and received many awards. His commercial work includes the design of music recording studios, performance theaters, high-rise apartment buildings, and churches. He teaches an advanced design studio at the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture which focuses on developing green and economical manufactured housing solutions for urban renovation.
